It is fun stuff and the kind of music you are listening to will ultimately determine what the level will be like. You will have to press certain keys to make Melody jump, run, move to the side and even slide on her feet and on her back. The levels are much more fitting to the songs than they were in the first game. The clever programming of the game takes your songs and then builds levels around the songs. The control scheme of Melody's Escape 2 is very simple to figure out. The way this game works is very, very clever and it kind of reminds me of this old PS1 game I used to play called Vib Ribbon which was a similar 2D rhythm game, but you had to actually put a CD in the PlayStation to use your own music, this game just accesses all the music off your computer. There is not much of a plot here, but it is very easy to get into and the kind of game that will keep you playing as it is all about using your own music library to make things happen. The whole premise of Melody's Escape 2 is that we control Melody as she runs, jumps, and slides her way to freedom. Thankfully, this sequel has fixed most of the issues the original had (which was still a fun game in its own right to be fair) making this one of the best and most interesting rhythm-based games to be released this year. When it was going its own thing, it was great, but when using your own music library, it felt a tad off. I thought that the original game was ok, but it felt like the button prompts that I was seeing on the screen were not matched all that well to my music. If you enjoy rhythm-based games, Melody's Escape 2 is a 2022 release that may very well interest you.
